As of February 23, 2012, the California Department of Health Care Services had received 25 J-1 Waiver Applications, meaning five (5) remain. In California, there is a critical need for primary care physicians. California’s J-1 Visa Waiver Program is accepting applications from primary care physicians who will work in federally designated underserved areas. Primary care physicians include: internist, family practice, pediatrician, psychiatrist, and OB/GYN.
