FY2013 H1-B Cap Reached

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service is reporting that the Fiscal Year 2013 H1-B Cap Season which opened on April 1, 2012 was reached yesterday.  As of June 11, 2012,  USCIS had received a sufficient number of petitions to reach the statutory cap for FY 2013.   The number of H-1B petitions on behalf of persons with advanced degrees was reached on June 7, 2012 .  USCIS will reject petitions subject to the cap for H-1B specialty occupation workers seeking an employment start date in FY 2013 that are received after June 11, 2012.

The current annual cap on the H-1B category is 65,000 and 20,000 for  aliens with advanced degrees.  More information can be found on the USCIS Cap Page.
