Texas and Indiana Begin Accepting J-1 Waiver Applications for FY 2013

  • Indiana is now accepting applications for the 2013 Cycle of the J-1 Visa Waiver Program. Applications will be reviewed and processed as received, with Primary Care applications receiving priority. All complete Primary Care applications will be submitted to the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) after October 1, 2012. All specialist applications will be reviewed and held for submission to ISDH until January 1, 2013. For more information please review the updated 2013 J-1 Visa Waiver Guidelines.
  • The Texas Conrad 30 J-1 Visa Waiver Program will begin accepting applications for the FY 2013 year cycle on September 5th, 2012.  Primary care eligible areas are limited to: Geographic Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs), and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) with “automatic” facility HPSA designation.  Sub-specialist eligible areas are limited to: Geographic Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs), and FQHCs and RHCs with “automatic” facility HPSA designation. ADDITIONALLY: Sub specialists may also be eligible for a waiver if they work in Geographic Medically Underserved Areas (MUAs), and Psychiatrists are only eligible for a Geographic Mental Health HPSA.
