DOS on September 2015 Visa Bulletin Retrogression

In a meeting between the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association (AILA) and Charlie Oppenheim, the State Department’s Chief of the Visa Control and Reporting Division, the significant retrogression in the employment-based second preference (EB-2) categories for mainland China and India to January 1, 2006 were discussed. Mr. Oppenheim stated that the September retrogression can be primarily attributed to increased demand in the EB-2 Worldwide category. Mr. Oppenheim expects that EB-2 India and China will advance in October with the start of the new fiscal year.
