Alabama

The Alabama J-1 Visa Waiver program accepts applications from international medical graduates practicing primary care medicine – specifically Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, and Psychiatry. The program allows up to twenty (20) spots for physicians practicing in sub-specialties, with a limit of no more than four per employer. Applications for the program are accepted beginning October 1 of each year, and are accepted on an ongoing basis until all 20 slots are filled. The Alaska J-1 visa waiver program also accepts applications from physicians practicing in sub-specialties. Applications for the Alaska Conrad 30 program are accepted as part of an ongoing process throughout the year, until all 30 slots are filled. The Arizona J-1 visa waiver program accepts applications from foreign medical graduates practicing primary care medicine – specifically Family Practice, General Practice, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, General Internal Medicine, and Psychiatry. The Arizona J-1 visa waiver program will accept up to seven (7) slots for full-time physicians who practice sub-specialties. Applications for the Arizona J-1 visa waiver program for 2012 are accepted from October 1, 2011 to November 30, 2011, and review of the applications lasts 10 to 12 weeks. Applications to this program are accepted from October 1, 2011, through September 15, 2012, until all 30 slots are filled. The program also accepts applications from physicians who practice subspecialties, but only if slots remain. Applications are accepted from October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012, on a first-come, first-serve basis. If there is a visible need, the Delaware J-1 visa waiver program also accepts applications from physicians who practices sub-specialties. Applications for the J-1 visa waiver program must be submitted by June 30, along with a $200 site application fee and a $250 waiver processing fee.
